How did you
attract/address your audience?

I believe that
through Psychosis, me and my group have reached our target audience of age
16-25. After completing the film, we showed it to a wide variety of people and
the results were mixed.
1 person gave
the film 10 stars, 8 people gave it 8-9 stars, 7 people rated it 6-7 stars and
4 people gave it 1-5 stars. As the results are mainly positive, we are happy
that the target audience were impressed with our product, meaning that it was a
success. When planning for our film we gave questionnaires out regarding the
storyline of our film, and what age rating they would give the film. This
therefore allowed for us to decide which mise-en-scene should be in it. The
questionnaire also asked which locations should be used for a psychological
horror and the participants said that they would include a forest and an estate
- to make the film more relatable to the audience.
We wanted to
know what was less successful in our film and asked the other 19 participants
who didn’t give the film 10 starts. They all mentioned about the sound and how
it could be improved upon – which is something I will take into consideration
when editing my next film. Some also stated that the acting was slightly off
and wasn’t up to par. However, a large majority of the people we asked said
about the good cinematography and how the large variety of shots was a good
touch on the film and gave it extra stars. These results enabled me to know
what we could improve on next time. To improve in the future I would have to
carry on with a large variety of shots to keep the production interesting and
focus more on the sound element of the film. This way the audience make feel
more engaged in the film.
