Target audience
The target audience for our product are young people around the ages of 16 - 25. Having the film targeted towards a younger target audience is effective as they are more likely to relate to the main character Jennifer and her mental illness as they are of a similar age to her and will understand why she feels she has to hide her problems away from everyone. The type of people watching will most likely not enjoy mainstream and popular franchise films such as the Harry Potter series and Lord of The Rings. This is because we are producing an independent film suited for a niche audience as it is not a stereotypical film with an expected plot. Instead we chose to go for a more psychological effect on the viewer that leaves them thinking and questioning even after the film has ended. The audience we are targeting (and the audience most likely to enjoy our film) will be the type of people that enjoy being challenged and like having to question the characters throughout the film - this will keep them on the edge of their seats and ensure they do not get bored.
